Who is Scripto Self-Publishing Limited?

We are a private limited company offering a range of workshops, (from ante-natal through to adult). Our workshops span the creative industries and include creative writing, arts, crafts, mind, body, spirit. Any of our team members working with either children or vulnerable adults is enhanced DBS checked.  

Our company registration number is 10274406 registered in England and Wales. 

The types of information we collect

We frequently collect opt-in data at our workshops and events. You are under no obligation to fill out any forms and you can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing to our emails. At events involving children up to the age of 13 years old, we will ask you to complete a parental consent form to enable us to publish their work.  Under legislation being introduced in May 2018, children over the age of 13 are required to give their own consent. The parental consent form also contains a range of marketing options (which you are under no obligation to select). After opting in, you/or your child, if aged over 13, can also unsubscribe from any of our communications at any time either by clicking on the link in the email or by emailing [email protected] with the subject header “Unsubscribe.”

If you apply to join our team, we may also hold personal data about you. Depending on the nature of your relationship with us, this may include, your children’s names and ages, your financial details, tax information, name, email address, postal address, telephone or mobile number or date of birth.

If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence. We may ask you to complete surveys, although you do not have to respond to them.

We may also collect details of your visits to our website, including but not limited to traffic data, location data, weblogs, and other communication data and the resources that you access.

By submitting this personal information, you enable us to provide you with the information, services or products you select. We will only ever use your data for purposes to which you have consented.

To help us create a more effective website that reflects user’s needs, we may also use cookie files to collect and record information about how our site is used and collect your IP address (a number that identifies a specific computer or another internet device) for system administration and to report aggregated information. Scripto Self-Publishing Limited and any other names under which we trade will not rent or sell your personal information to other organisations for use by them in their own direct marketing activities.

However, where you have given us permission to contact you, we may use external service providers to do this on our behalf. Scripto Self-Publishing Limited does not directly process credit or debit card details. If that changes we will update our privacy policy accordingly. Our payment options are currently bank transfer or PayPal. All payment/financial information processed by us will be stored securely.

Scripto Self-Publishing Limited may for financial or technical reasons sometimes need to use the services of an Internet Services Provider located outside of the European Economic Area. However, Scripto Self-Publishing Limited shall ensure that your personal information will be held by those Internet Service Providers in compliance with General Data Protection Regulations. By submitting your personal information to our website, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing at a location outside the European Economic Area. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.  We may also use social media sites and it is your responsibility to check their privacy policies.
